The Great Fire

On Sunday 2nd September 1666 in Pudding Lane the Great Fire of London started. After destroying a large part of the City including 1000’s of houses, Churches,St Paul’s Cathedral and many public buildings.  In 1677 a 202 feetfire of London.1 fire of London.2 memorial was erected. Londoners could climb up the 311 steps and view the new city. Today the memorial is dwarfed by modern buildings but remains open to the public.
