Castles not far from Monmouth

Not far today visiting 3 local castles.Warm and sunny all days and lots of Buzzards about. White Castle (named as it was painted white on the outer walls) which must have made a statement. Skenfrith Castle and church with a moving war memorial  to a RAF flyer killed in 1918 and lastly Grosmont Castle .Afternoon tea back at the cottage with local cake purchased towards he up keep of Skenfrith Church

Court of inquiry

The cause of the accident was due to a Parachute flare sticking in its launching tube which when ignited caused the flames to spring up in the fuselage. Causing the machine to catch fire when it crashed.
